The key to a stunning, romantic Valentine’s look is to make your hair appear soft and sultry. Put your hair-straighteners and blow-dryers away, and consider trying these light, natural looks.
1. Lovely French Side Braid
This princess look works best for those with long hair. When beginning the braid, be mindful of where your natural part is. Start on the opposite side of where you want the braid to fall. While braiding, keep a firm hold, but do not pull too tight. Continue braiding until you reach the end of your hair. For a more tousled look, loosen the braid by pulling it slightly apart. If you have particularly short hair or have lots of layers do not fret, consider gathering the braid in a side bun.
2. Sweetheart bun
This simple yet elegant look can be nice to change up your style. First pull your hair back into a ponytail at the bottom of your head, with a side part. Leave a few strands loose near the front. Once hair is secured, twist and wrap hair around ponytail. If needed, use bobby pins for a secure bun, especially if you have particularly long hair. Consider accenting with a cute hair accessory like a flower.
3. Loose bouncy curls
You can’t go wrong with this classic look. Large, loose curls will leave you looking effortlessly flawless. Part your hair in the center, or to a side for a more dramatic look. Section off your hair into three layers. Whether you use curlers or a large barreled curling iron, apply hairspray with a flexible hold so it doesn’t become stiff. Pull one of the front pieces to the opposite side for an “imperfect” look.
4. Barely tied pony-tail
Regardless of whether you are the girl who wears her hair in a ponytail everyday or you typically just do a ponytail on laundry days, a loose ponytail can be stylish. Tease the back of your hair slightly to create more volume. Wrapping a strand of hair around the elastic band makes this look appear all the more natural.
