Today, we’re going to talk about the products in Step 1 of Keranique’s 3-Step Hair Regrowth System, Cleanse & Condition. We feel our shampoos and conditioners are the backbone of Keranique. And because of that, we’ve created 5 formulas to choose from. All 5 formulas of shampoo and conditioner contain our proprietary Keratin Amino Complex that is exclusive to Keranique. The Keratin Amino Complex is a blend of Keratin and Amino Acids that have been combined to strengthen, repair, and protect your hair and nourish your scalp.
It’s important to note, the basis for good hair starts with the way you are shampooing and conditioning your hair. Keranique’s shampoos are formulated to gently remove excess build-up and excess-sebum while the conditioners hydrate and give your hair moisture without weighing your hair down.

The First formula is our Scalp Stimulating formula that is ideal for very fine, very thin hair. Although gentle, this shampoo is our most cleansing and the conditioner is our lightest formula that delivers a dose of strand-softening moisture that won’t weigh your hair down.
The Second formula is our Deep Hydration formula that has been formulated for normal hair that has not been chemically processed or color treated. The Deep Hydration will quench your hair with an extra boost of hydration but will not weigh your hair down.
The Third formula is our Damage Control formula and it was formulated for fine, structurally weak hair. This includes hair that may be damaged by the sun, colorants, chemical processing, and even thermal damage from styling tools. This shampoo is ultra-gentle and won’t strip your hair of its natural oils. The Damage Control formula gives you our most intense moisture to deliver an ultra-dose of hydration to the hair.
The Fourth formula is our Color Boost formula and has been formulated for women that color treat their hair. It also contains True Tone Technology. This formula shampoo has a very mild cleanser, and the conditioner formula gives very intense hydration to your hair. The True Tone Technology locks in your color to prevent fade so your color will last longer. It was clinically tested and found to lock in color for more than 20 washes to help prevent your color from fading as quickly.
Finally, our Fifth formula, which is also the newest formula, our Curl Preserve which was created for women with curly or textured hair. You should know that curly and textured hair is naturally drier and naturally much harder to moisturize. Curly and textured hair is also more prone to breakage. This formula will hydrate your hair and help maintain curl retention and maintain curl definition. The Curl Preserve also helps fight frizz which tends to be a problem for women with curly textured hair.
Which formula do you think suits you best?
We do not have any set rules on how often you must shampoo and condition your hair, you shampoo and condition how often you normally would. But what is important is to find the right formula for you and to follow your shampoo with a conditioner. After a good cleanse, you need a good conditioner to detangle, repair & protect your hair. With all 5 formulas, we recommend you gently massage the scalp, work the product into a lather, and allow the shampoo to saturate for 1-2 minutes before rinsing. And with the conditioner work the product from roots to the ends of hair gently allowing the products 1-2 minutes to saturate before rinsing.
When needed, you can leave the conditioners in your hair for 5-10 minutes for an intensive treatment, then rinse out.
Remember Shampooing is about Cleansing and Conditioning is the step that helps repair and stop hair breakage.
