Not sure what to get your mom for Mother’s Day? Perhaps she has everything she could ever want. Or perhaps you don’t want to get her a traditional gift. If she isn’t ready to head to a spa or salon during the pandemic, you can bring the spa to her!
First, you’ll need to decide which treatments she would like. You could ask her what she wants or make it a surprise. Some examples of spa day treatments would be a manicure, pedicure, massage, scalp massage, hair mask, face mask, facial, or setting up a nice bath for her to enjoy some alone time! Once you decide which spa day treatments you want to treat her to, you will need to gather your products.
For instance, if you want to give her a manicure and a pedicure, you’ll need nail clippers, a nail file, cuticle remover, nail polish, base and top coat, lotion, foot scrub, and anything else that would make the experience special. You could use a bathtub or a foot spa. Make sure to transform the bathroom or wherever you are doing the spa treatments into a spa! Light some candles, dim the lights, play some calming music, and make sure everything is clean and fresh.
If your mom’s hair needs a refresh and you have the skills, you could also cut and/or color her hair. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, you could just give her a nice hair mask and a scalp massage to make her feel like a queen for the day!
If she would prefer some alone time, you could make a basket of spa day products for her to use on her own. Some ideas could include nail polish, face masks, hair masks, a new robe, slippers, candles, bath salts or bubble bath products, and any other products from your local beauty supply store.
Have you ever considered giving your mother or the mother in your life an at-home spa day? Would she love it?
