Maryanne is our first subject of the blog. Each month, we will share an update on her progress. So without further ado, here is Maryanne’s first month on Keranique:

I began using Keranique products on November 27, 2013. I have used many other so-called “hair growth” products, but none of them has worked for me. I have been using the Keranique products for 30 days, and I am hopeful that this time I will see results.
I am currently using the Hair Regrowth Kit: Scalp Stimulating Shampoo, the Volumizing Keratin Conditioner, the Keranique Hair Regrowth Treatment, and the Thickening and Texturizing Mousse. I chose the Keranique Hair Regrowth Treatment over the Follicle Boosting Serum because it contains 2% minoxidil (Ed note: this is the only FDA-approved treatment for hair loss in women), which I have never tried previously, and I wanted to give myself the best chance to see results. I did get the OK from my doctor to use the hair regrowth Treatment since I wanted to be sure that she had no concerns about my using a product with minoxidil.
The Scalp Stimulating Shampoo has a faint mint smell, but it is not overpowering. I like the fact that it is sulfate- and paraben-free and can be used on my color-treated hair. The shampoo left my fine hair feeling clean and didn’t weigh it down. It did not irritate my scalp or make it red like so many other “treatment” shampoos. I look forward to using it daily.
The Volumizing Keratin Conditioner is light-weight and left my hair soft but not limp. I tend to avoid conditioners because I believe they can weigh down my fine hair – this one did not. It gives just the right amount of moisture and shine.
I have applied 1 ounce of the Hair Regrowth Treatment twice a day to my scalp. The product has no smell (a definite plus) and is easy to apply with the enclosed dropper. It dries quickly and does not interfere with hair styling products. So far, I have had no adverse side-effects from using this product, and I have noticed that I am losing fewer hairs each day. It takes approximately four months of using the regrowth treatment to see results, but I believe that it is already making a difference in my hair. I see less of my scalp when I look in the mirror, and the volume appears to have increased.
In the morning, after washing, conditioning, and applying the Hair Regrowth Treatment, I apply the Thickening and Texturizing Mousse to my towel-dried hair. The product works best when applied directly to the hair since it is quite “airy” when it comes out of the pump. It is easily worked into the hair and is not sticky. I have used MANY different hair thickening mousse products, and this is one of my favorites. It adds significant volume and texture.
To-date, I am very pleased with all the products and how they are working. I didn’t know what to expect, but my experience so far has been positive. I will continue to use the products and look forward to documenting my progress and results as of month 2.
