The mornings can easily get away from us. Whether we’re working out, sleeping in, taking care of our children or just slow moving, it’s not always easy to make enough time to do our hair.
Luckily, just because you’re busy doesn’t mean your hair has to look like a mess! Here are a few hair ideas for easy, on-the-go looks that won’t take much time at all.
An easy braid
Braids are the biggest hair trend right now and this summer we will see more types of braids than you can imagine. With braid bars and salons that have stylists that specialize in braiding hair popping up everywhere, the creations will be endless.
But even the simplest of braids are pretty and will many times stay put much longer than ponytails. Go grocery shopping, make dinner, and get the kids clean and in bed without missing a beat to readjust your hair. We also love braids because they don’t need to be perfect – in fact, the side braid is easier for most to do than a perfectly centered braid, and is such a cute look for any occasion. Plus, when you take your braid out, you’ll get natural long flowing waves that you can style into a half up do or a cute ponytail tomorrow.
The quick ponytail fix
Bad hair day, or just not enough time to deal with wearing your hair down? Grab an elastic and put your hair up in an effortless ponytail. Whether to wear it high, low or to the side is the only decision you need to make. Make your hair look sleek by taking a small section of hair from the bottom of the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic. Finish by securing the ends with bobby pins directed into the base of the ponytail. You’ll look chic and polished, even if you have baby food stains on your shirt!
Amp Up the Volume and Wave with a Ballerina Bun
A ballerina bun is a two-for one way of getting quick and easy hairstyles, especially in summer when the weather is hot and your hair is fighting you! This chic style takes less than a minute to do and will give you a flirty updo and voluminous flowing, sexy waves when let down. Put it up in the morning slightly damp and by evening, drop it down and comb through with your fingers to get big hair with soft waves!
Before going to sleep, spritz your hair with water or a light finishing spray and brush your hair into a high ballerina bun on top of your head, (it helps if you lean over to get as much volume as possible). It may look a little silly, but in the morning, you will have avoided tangling your hair plus, your hair will be extra full and soft with sexy waves. A quick brush through will keep your now-voluminous hair looking sleek.
As a mom, you give your children so much care, time, and love. It’s important that you treat yourself too, even if it’s just a quick style that doesn’t incorporate the food your toddler tries to put in your hair. Taking just 10 minutes in the morning to do a quick little something with your hair, will give you the all-day confidence boost you need and deserve!
