With so many weddings canceled and rescheduled in the past year because of covid, brides have had some unexpected extra time to decide what hairstyle they want on their special day. Many of us have found ourselves attending more weddings than ever before as restrictions are lifted. Do you have multiple weddings to attend with no idea what to do with your hair? Or are you the bride and have no clue what you want to do? Don’t worry, here are some ideas to ensure you have a perfect hair day!

Half up and half down

Half up and half downs have not only been making a comeback in everyday life, but many brides are using this style for their wedding day, too. It’s a super-easy way to pull back the hair from your face to show off your makeup-enhanced face, but also have your hair look stunning on the big day. It can be done with either straight or curly hair and paired or pulled back with a cute clip that matches the theme of the wedding. Many brides like this style because it can easily integrate the veil without interfering with the overall look. It is one of the top hairstyles for a wedding, and it’s a great hairstyle for either the bride or guest.

Braids

There is so much that can be done with braids. You have the waterfall braid, French braid to the side, or just add braids to your other hairstyles. Add a braided crown or some braids pulled back into your updo, or braids creating a half up half down. They are the perfect add on feature to any hairstyle. There are also so many ways to braid each kind, that you can make them work for a beach wedding, a country wedding, or just a simple church wedding. No matter what the dress code is, braids are a simple way to enhance your hairstyle no matter how you choose to add them.

Low Bun or Ponytail

Having a simple and elegant wedding? Why not have a simple and elegant hairstyle then, too. The low bun or ponytail is perfect for that theme. It’s an easy way to pull your hair back and out of your face for the big day. This hairstyle is subtle, so as not to draw attention away from you and your fabulous dress. If you want a little spice added to it you can always throw in a braid or headband; maybe even some curls can be thrown in. There are so many ways you can play around with these two types of hairstyles to make them range from simple and elegant to fun and different.

Updos

Don’t worry, updos are still also trending! Whether you’ve always dreamed of a high pony or a bun, there are still ways for an updo to follow today’s wedding trends. Starting with the high pony, a simple high pony can be as simple as smoothing the hair into a neat ponytail and wrapping a piece of hair around the hair tie to hide it for a clean, sophisticated hairstyle. If you want something a bit different, curl the ponytail or add some braids going into the ponytail, or of course, you can always throw on a headband. Maybe the ponytail isn’t your look and you think a bun will compliment your dress better. You can either keep it very simple, and just do a slick top knot bun, or you can go for the messier look. Throw in some curls to make the bun look a little messier but also add some volume to your hair.

Just Down

Not someone who likes to do much to the hair at all? We have some ideas for you. Leave your hair down and just throw a few curls in or add a headband or tiara. Your hair doesn’t have to be the center of your look, but rather a compliment to it should you prefer to have a simple look on your wedding day. With the right tools and products, you won’t even have to rely on a professional hairstylist to achieve your desired look. Depending on the weather forecast, wearing your hair down can look beautiful throughout the night, just be sure to use more hairspray than you normally would on any average day to ensure your look lasts through the duration of the event.

No matter what, wedding hairstyles tend to follow the same formats, just with a different twist every year. This year is definitely going to be one that comes with a bang, as we all have definitely missed gathering together to celebrate weddings. To avoid all the damage and buildup that curls and hairspray can cause, we recommend trying the micro-exfoliating follicle revitalizing mask after your big day.  Now it’s time to stop stressing the wedding hairstyles and just think of all the other exciting things going to be happening that day! Try them all out and pick which makes you the happiest –it is your day after all. No matter what season you’re getting married in, any hairstyle you choose you will look amazing!
