Styling Tips from the Pros

  1. Begin with towel-dried-not dripping wet-hair.

  2. Apply a mousse with thermal protection. Mousse will help set your style as well as seal your hair against the damage of the heat. For an added bonus, look for a mousse fortified with a detangler. You want to avoid cleaning clumps of hair from your brush.

  3. For extra volume and protection, spritz hair with a lifting or boosting spray. Again, select a product with thermal protection to defend against split ends and drying out the hair.

  4. When drying hair, keep the blow dryer at least 6 inches away from the hair shaft and constantly move to a different area every minute or so to avoid burning the hair shaft.

  5. For maximum volume, use a round brush and begin blow-drying at the roots and work down. Look for a brush with soft bristles and holes throughout the barrel. The holes help distribute the heat for even drying.

  6. A cool air blast at the end will add some shine.
